THE NATURAL EDITION: WHAT IS IT?

Aussie-born Nicky Roughan spent 15 years designing luxury lingerie before setting up The Natural Edition. In founding her own brand, her aim is to focus on oft-neglected wardrobe essentials, offering simplicity and understated luxe for women everywhere.

Do you know what never gets the boring? The perfect t-shirt. We’re talking about the kind you pull from your wardrobe time and time again. The one that fits well and feels great. The one that makes you feel effortlessly chic paired with just jeans or heels.

These ultimate capsule wardrobe items are exactly what Natural Edition specialises in.

Designed to be seasonless and built to last, Natural Edition’s long- and short-sleeved tops are also made from breathable organic cotton, which doesn’t use any toxic chemicals so is much better for sensitive skin.

THE NATURAL EDITION: HOW SUSTAINABLE IS IT?

Nicky only uses organic cotton because it is grown without insecticides, pesticides and genetically modified seeds and has strict social criteria including minimum wages for farmers and no child labour. What’s more, one organic cotton t-shirt saves the equivalent of three years drinking water for one person.

Your garments will be delivered to you in kraft card bags made from part-recycled material and  that are fully recyclable.

The brand’s factory in Turkey specialises in eco-friendly fashion. They are regularly Fairwear audited and all factory workers plant trees together once a month. In fact, when you buy from The Natural Edition they also plant a tree on your behalf via the charity One Tree Planted.

On a personal level, founder Nicky Roughan does volunteer mentoring every week at The Baytree Centre, supporting women in Brixton.

THE NATURAL EDITION: WHERE CAN I BUY IT?

Click on over to the brand’s website, where you’ll find a cornucopia of organic cotton clothing.
